What you need to know about UX writing

Does this sound familiar?

You’re curious about UX writing, but before investing in a full course or making a career change, you want to understand what the work actually looks like.

You may have seen open UX writer roles or even applied to them, but you’re unsure how your current experience connects.

Or maybe you already work in an adjacent role and want to develop your UX writing skills and integrate them into your projects.

If that sounds like you, this workshop will give you the clarity you’re looking for.

Just for a Minute

Imagine if you could…

A Note for career PIVOTERS: You’re closer than you think

I’ve been where you are. Now I’m here to show you what’s possible.

I started my career as a newspaper journalist before spending years on a non-linear path working across fundraising, digital marketing, and e-commerce.

I pivoted into UX writing with a contract role at Etsy in April 2022. Three months later, I was promoted to Senior UX Copywriter and went on to lead UX content initiatives across major buyer experiences used by tens of millions of people. High-impact launches included Etsy Registry and the gifting experience.

Later, I became a founding member of the digital advisor experience team at Thrivent, a Fortune 500 financial services company. There, I established UX content guidelines, created content workflows, and championed other key UX writing foundations.

Today, I help experienced professionals see how their existing skills translate into UX writing and related content roles.

Your path doesn’t have to be perfectly linear to lead you here. There’s so much conflicting advice, so many job descriptions, and so many opinions about what it takes to break into UX writing. It’s easy to feel stuck between curiosity and uncertainty.

That’s exactly why I created this workshop. So you can stop guessing and start seeing clearly whether UX writing could be the right next chapter for you.

In fact, the ability to simplify complex ideas, communicate clearly, lead with empathy, and collaborate with others is exactly what makes someone successful.
